Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws following strict infection control protocols
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for laboratory processing
- Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Document patient information and test requisitions with meticulous attention to detail
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure efficient workflow
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and facility safety regulations
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Proficient in venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer literacy for documentation systems
