Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections accurately and efficiently
- Process and label specimens according to laboratory protocols
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control standards
- Verify patient identification and prepare samples for testing
- Operate laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Document procedures and maintain electronic health records
- Provide patient education on collection procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare team for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience in clinical setting
- Texas state phlebotomy license (if applicable)
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Must pass background check and drug screening
