Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with mobility, including transferring them from beds to chairs or using walkers/wheelchairs safely.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and feeding schedules.
- Document patient care activities, changes in patient condition, and incident reports accurately in electronic health records.
- Administer medication as directed by licensed nurses, ensuring proper documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required and in good standing with the state of California.
- CPR/BLS certification (Basic Life Support) valid and current.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts.
