Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance payers with 98%+ accuracy
- Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and coverage details prior to service
- Appeal denied claims and resolve billing discrepancies with payers
- Generate monthly aging reports and analyze denial trends
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Train staff on billing best practices and process improvements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical or facility setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Advanced proficiency in Epic, Athenahealth, or similar EHR platforms
- Strong analytical skills with attention to numerical precision
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and commercial payer regulations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
