Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean medical claims to insurance carriers with 99% accuracy
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before service rendering
- Appeal denied claims and resolve billing discrepancies proactively
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and California billing regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure documentation aligns with billing requirements
- Generate monthly revenue cycle reports for leadership review
- Train new billing staff on system protocols and best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a US healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or Athenahealth EHR platforms
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication for patient and insurance company interactions
- Ability to manage high-volume claims during peak periods
