Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient demographics
- Process, label, and transport specimens accurately to the laboratory
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Calibrate and troubleshoot phlebotomy equipment
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless workflow
- Document patient interactions and specimen data in EHR systems
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills for patient interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
