Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratory while maintaining chain of custody
- Verify patient identification and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Maintain clean, organized collection areas and calibrated equipment
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparations and procedures
- Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize workflow efficiency
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a fast-paced environment
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Proficiency in specimen handling and processing protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent with emphasis on science courses
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
