Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre/post-surgery
- Transport patients and specimens safely within the facility
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain instrument inventory
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs during procedures
- Current BLS certification
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Texas Surgical Tech license (or ability to obtain immediately)
