Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile fields according to AORN standards
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and maintain sterile processing workflows
- Document procedural events accurately using Epic EMR systems
- Train junior techs on new surgical technologies and protocols
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless case flow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in Level I trauma centers
- BLS/CPR certification with current ACLS preferred
- Proficiency in robotic-assisted surgery systems (e.g., da Vinci)
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrument sterilization techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Experience with electronic documentation systems (EPIC preferred)
