Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgeries, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor and manage stock levels of surgical supplies to ensure the operating room is always fully equipped.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.
- Handle and dispose of surgical specimens accurately according to hospital protocols.
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning them correctly and marking incision sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in accordance with infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and graduation from a technical school or military program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certification of Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work under pressure and remain calm during critical situations.
- High school diploma or GED required.
