Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and monitor for any adverse reactions.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in social activities to combat loneliness.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and cleaning to ensure a safe living environment.
- Vital Monitoring: Track and report changes in a client's health status, appetite, or behavior to the nursing staff.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or social outings.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current North Carolina Home Health Aide (HHA) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in home care or healthcare setting preferred.
- CPR/First Aid: Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle for client transport.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and families.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods; capable of assisting with patient transfers.
