Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, drug interactions, and dosage calculations to ensure patient safety.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and verifying expiration dates of pharmaceutical products.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient questions and assisting with medication counseling.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and New York State pharmacy laws.
- Process insurance claims and handle cash transactions with precision.
- Assist in the organization and cleaning of the pharmacy workspace.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligibility to sit for the PTCB/NAPLEX exam.
- Current and valid New York State Pharmacy Technician License.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
- Previous experience in retail or hospital pharmacy settings is a plus.
