Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Conduct medication reconciliation for hospitalized patients
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications
- Train new technicians on pharmacy protocols and software systems
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication regimens
- Ensure strict compliance with DEA, FDA, and HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Active NY State Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 2 years hospital or specialty pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding and USP 797 standards
- Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Valid CPR certification
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
