Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision, speed, and a focus on patient comfort.
- Verify patient identities and accurately label, process, and transport specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, infection control standards, and OSHA regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety and explain procedures clearly.
- Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff to ensure seamless workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of collection procedures and patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent is required.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
