Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately according to physician orders and safety protocols.
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions for patients.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage inventory levels, including stocking shelves and monitoring expiration dates.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and resolving issues related to prescriptions.
- Handle cash transactions and process insurance reimbursements efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Current and active Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or equivalent state licensure.
- High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in pharmacy technology preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a high-volume setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy software systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
