Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operations by anticipating their needs and passing instruments and materials.
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure a sterile environment.
- Monitor patient vital signs and maintain accurate medical records.
- Transport patients safely to and from the operating suite.
- Dress and drape patients for procedures and create sterile wound fields.
- Properly handle and dispose of surgical specimens.
- Collaborate with the nursing and medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (CST) is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift equipment.
