Responsibilities
- Assess incoming patients using systematic triage protocols to determine urgency and prioritize care
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
- Monitor patient vitals and symptoms, recognizing critical changes requiring immediate intervention
- Document assessments and care plans accurately in electronic health records
- Provide education to patients and families regarding emergency procedures and next steps
- Oversee triage area operations, ensuring efficient patient flow and resource allocation
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and hospital emergency protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Indiana (or compact state)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong assessment skills with ability to make critical decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EPIC preferred)
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with 5+ years experience considered)
