Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine acuity levels and prioritize care appropriately.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) to document triage notes accurately and efficiently.
- Manage incoming patient calls and triage requests via phone and secure messaging platforms with a focus on empathy and clarity.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient flow and care continuity.
- Provide health education, symptom guidance, and counseling to patients and their families.
- Adhere to all hospital protocols, HIPAA regulations, and quality improvement standards to ensure patient safety.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance triage processes.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in triage, emergency medicine, or urgent care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in computer systems and EMR software.
