Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize cases based on medical urgency using standardized protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care teams to coordinate patient flow and resource allocation
- Document detailed assessments and medical histories in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients and families regarding care plans
- Monitor patient conditions and escalate critical cases immediately to appropriate providers
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and institutional safety standards
Qualifications
- Current Michigan RN license with minimum 3 years emergency/urgent care experience
- BSN or higher degree preferred
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proven expertise in rapid assessment protocols and emergency triage systems
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to de-escalate high-stress situations
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EHR platforms
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-volume environments
- Experience with pediatric/adult triage protocols strongly preferred
