Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections using provided advanced equipment
- Process and label specimens accurately following HIPAA protocols
- Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards
- Provide exceptional patient care during blood draw procedures
- Operate and troubleshoot automated phlebotomy systems
- Document patient information and test requisitions in EMR systems
- Collaborate with lab technicians and healthcare providers
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proficiency with modern phlebotomy equipment (e.g., BD Vacutainer, Sarstedt tubes)
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling
- Must pass background check and drug screening
