Responsibilities
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy, checking for drug interactions and proper dosage.
- Prepare and package medications for distribution to patients and nursing units.
- Assist the Pharmacist in the compounding of sterile products and intravenous medications.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, storing, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding prescriptions and insurance.
- Process insurance claims and manage patient medication profiles.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by PTCB or ExCPT.
- Current state licensure as required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and medical terminology.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
