Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates as directed by the nurse.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on time and report any side effects or missed doses to the supervising nurse.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to reduce loneliness and improve the patient's quality of life.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning duties related to patient care, such as meal preparation, laundry, and changing bed linens.
- Transportation: Assist clients with transportation to medical appointments and social activities.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily logs of patient activities and condition changes.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; CNA or HHA certification preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience as a Home Health Aide, CNA, or in a caregiving role is highly valued but not always required for the right candidate.
- Licensure: Current State of New Mexico certification as a Home Health Aide (if applicable to state regulations).
- Driving: Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required for client transportation.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Background: Must pass a background check and drug screen.
