Responsibilities
- Accurately process medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Verify insurance coverage and pre-authorizations for procedures
- Manage patient accounts and resolve billing discrepancies
- Submit claims electronically to insurance providers
- Track claim status and follow up on unpaid accounts
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance in all patient interactions
- Generate monthly reports for financial analysis
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience required
- Certification in medical billing (CPC, CMRS) preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, Athenahealth, or similar EHR systems
- Strong knowledge of CMS guidelines and payer policies
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
