Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Management: Promptly remind clients to take their prescribed medications at scheduled times and report any missed doses to the supervising nurse.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, assist with hobbies, play games, or accompany them on walks to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light meal preparation, laundry, and tidying up the client's home.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and accurately record changes in client health status, such as temperature, pulse, and respiration, and report any abnormalities immediately.
- Transportation Assistance: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or errands as required.
- Documentation: Complete daily care logs and incident reports accurately and timely as per agency guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid California Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in home health, geriatric care, or long-term care preferred.
- Driving: Valid Driver’s License and reliable personal vehicle available for client transport.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Compassion: A genuine, patient, and understanding demeanor with a strong desire to help vulnerable populations.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on client needs.
