Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients move safely around their home, including transferring from bed to chair or walking with assistance.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their prescribed medications at the scheduled times.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals tailored to the client's dietary needs and preferences.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in conversation, games, or hobbies to combat loneliness and improve mental well-being.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning duties such as laundry, dishwashing, and tidying up living areas to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
- Monitoring: Observe client conditions and report any changes in health, mood, or behavior to the registered nurse or supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience as a Home Health Aide, CNA, or in a similar caregiving role is a plus but not always required.
- License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for this position.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to follow instructions.
- Attributes: Must possess genuine compassion, patience, and a positive attitude.
- Certification: Current CPR and First Aid certification is highly desirable.
