Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and sterile supplies for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission standards
- Transport patients and specimens safely within surgical services
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain equipment calibration and sterilization protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience
- BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Knowledge of general surgery and specialty instruments
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and sterile technique mastery
