Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Mobility Support: Help patients move around safely, including transferring to and from beds or wheelchairs.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their medications and report any changes in health to the nursing staff.
- Household Tasks: Perform light housekeeping duties such as meal preparation, laundry, and cleaning to ensure a safe environment.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in social activities to combat loneliness.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record basic patient vital signs as directed by the supervising nurse.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Louisiana Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care is preferred but not always required.
- License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Background: Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: A genuine, caring demeanor and patience when working with elderly or disabled clients.
