Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their medications and report any changes in health or medication adherence to the supervising nurse.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, meal preparation, and cleaning to ensure a safe living environment.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in conversation and recreational activities to reduce loneliness.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and report significant changes to the care team.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments and errands as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of daily care logs and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Texas Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods; ability to assist patients with mobility.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Driving: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- First Aid/CPR: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is highly desirable.
