Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently according to state and federal regulations.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and physician orders to ensure compliance and prevent errors.
- Assist pharmacists with medication therapy management and patient counseling.
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including receiving, stocking, and ordering supplies to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medication profiles.
- Process returns and recalls in accordance with safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician certification (e.g., PTCB or NHA) required.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficient with pharmacy management software systems.
