Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure compliance with OSHA protocols
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgeries
- Prepare patients for procedures and position them correctly
- Manage surgical supplies inventory and restock as needed
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience
- BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends
- Valid Arizona state license (if applicable)
