Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical equipment for procedures
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgeries by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain strict sterile environments and infection control protocols
- Count and document surgical instruments before and after procedures
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them for surgery
- Process and sterilize reusable surgical instruments and equipment
- Provide intraoperative support including wound closure and dressing application
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced emergency situations
- Current BLS certification from an accredited provider
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
