Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure adherence to infection control protocols
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and count surgical sponges/needles
- Operate surgical equipment including sterilizers and endoscopic devices
- Document procedural details and maintain accurate equipment logs
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- 1+ years of recent scrub tech experience in general surgery
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA compliance standards
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends
