Responsibilities
- Assess patients using standardized triage protocols to determine urgency of care
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to prioritize patient flow
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records
- Provide clear communication to patients and families about treatment plans
- Maintain departmental compliance with JCAHO and regulatory standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Act as clinical resource for nursing staff during emergency situations
Qualifications
- Active Indiana RN license with unrestricted status
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong knowledge of ESI triage protocols
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- EMR proficiency (Epic preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
