Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately while maintaining inventory control systems
- Collaborate with pharmacists to verify medication orders and compound sterile preparations
- Provide exceptional patient education on medication usage and potential side effects
- Manage third-party insurance claims and prescription refill authorization
- Maintain sterile compounding environments per USP 797 standards
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on protocols and procedures
- Utilize pharmacy software for order entry and medication tracking
Qualifications
- Active Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license or certification
- Minimum 2 years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Compelling track record of precision in medication dispensing
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Exceptional communication skills for patient interactions
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical environments
- ASHP sterile compounding certification preferred
