Responsibilities
- Dispense and verify medications accurately per physician orders and pharmacy protocols
- Manage medication inventory, ordering, and stock rotation with precision
- Provide exceptional patient education on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Ensure compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for dispensing and documentation
Qualifications
- Active Alaska Pharmacy Technician license
- Prior hospital pharmacy experience required
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems
- High attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
