Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to strict protocols
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Manage surgical equipment inventory and ensure optimal operating room readiness
- Implement infection control measures and maintain compliance with OSHA/JCAHO standards
- Train and mentor junior surgical technologists on advanced techniques
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless surgical workflows
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Level 1 trauma or specialty surgical services
- Expertise in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive procedures
- Current BLS certification with ACLS preferred
- Proven ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Excellent communication skills and team collaboration abilities
