Responsibilities
- Assist in complex surgical procedures across multiple specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular
- Maintain sterile field integrity and enforce strict aseptic protocols
- Coordinate instrument/equipment preparation and inventory management
- Mentor junior surgical technologists and train new staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process optimization
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia teams for seamless surgical workflows
- Ensure proper sterilization and handling of all surgical instruments
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with current certification
- Minimum 3 years of scrub experience in Level I trauma center
- Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field
- Advanced certification in specialty areas (e.g., cardiac, neuro)
- Experience with robotic surgical systems preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and AORN standards
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments
