Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures including vital signs, medical history collection, and preparation for examinations
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures, including wound care, EKGs, and phlebotomy
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems with precision and HIPAA compliance
- Administer medications and treatments under provider supervision
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory of medical supplies
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Illinois CPR/BLS certification
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology
- Associate's degree in Medical Assisting or related field preferred
- Experience with venipuncture and basic laboratory procedures
