Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and examinations
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Perform basic laboratory tests and EKG procedures
- Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and maintain electronic health records
- Ensure exam rooms are sanitized and fully stocked with medical supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build patient rapport
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
