Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Triage: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics and insurance information, and prepare them for examinations.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration rate, and weight.
- Clinical Support: Assist providers during patient visits, prepare examination rooms, and sterilize instruments using standard protocols.
- Phlebotomy & Lab Duties: Perform blood draws and collect non-invasive specimens for lab analysis following strict safety guidelines.
- Administrative Management: Schedule appointments, manage electronic health records (EHR), and handle incoming calls with professionalism.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions regarding medications, follow-up care, and wellness tips to patients and families.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and hospital policies to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is a plus.
- Experience: Entry-Level candidates are welcome! Prior experience in a medical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to empathize with patients of all backgrounds.
- Technical Proficiency: Basic computer literacy and ability to learn electronic health record software quickly.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients, and perform repetitive motions.
