Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and prepare them for examinations.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient visits, including taking patient histories and preparing examination rooms.
- Procedures: Perform basic clinical procedures such as phlebotomy (blood draws), EKGs, and urine analysis under supervision.
- Admin Support: Manage front desk duties including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing medical records.
- Hygiene: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized clinical environment following strict sterilization protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Certification: Current CMA or RMA certification preferred; willing to obtain certification with sponsorship.
- Experience: Previous experience in a clinical setting is not required, but basic medical terminology knowledge is a plus.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Technical: Basic computer literacy and ability to learn Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems quickly.
