Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and administer medications as directed
- Perform diagnostic tests including EKGs, phlebotomy, and lab specimen processing
- Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, and manage front desk operations
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care measures
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting
- Proficiency in venipuncture, EKG, and basic clinical procedures
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to work day/evening/weekend shifts as needed
- Valid CPR certification and BLS certification preferred
