As a Medical Assistant at our clinic, you will be the face of our patient care team, ensuring every visitor feels welcomed and valued. We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented, empathetic, and ready to hit the ground running.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics, and escort them to examination rooms to ensure a smooth check-in process.
- Vital Signs & Admin: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate) and prepare patient charts for providers.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during patient exams, perform phlebotomy, and conduct EKGs as required.
- Room Preparation: Maintain sterile exam rooms, restock supplies, and ensure all medical equipment is sanitized and functioning correctly.
- Administrative Duties: Manage incoming calls, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification and basic billing inquiries.
- Education: Provide patient education on medication, diet, and lifestyle changes, ensuring they understand their treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and strong computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient confidentiality and empathy.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet patient needs.
