Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Obtain vital signs, administer medications as directed by providers, and prepare patients for examinations.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient charts, update medical records, and verify insurance information accurately.
- Procedures: Assist physicians with minor procedures, injections, and EKGs in a sterile environment.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, staff, and insurance companies to ensure smooth operations.
- Inventory: Monitor and restock exam rooms and medical supplies to ensure readiness for patient flow.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and hospital policies regarding patient privacy and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA, RMA, or MA certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is a plus.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and computer literacy.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
