Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms assessment.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Process laboratory specimens and perform basic point-of-care testing with high precision.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and wellness initiatives.
- Ensure the examination rooms are clean, sanitized, and stocked with necessary medical supplies.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or MA certification required).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting patients or equipment.
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation (optional).
