Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and update medical records accurately.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurses during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Procedures: Administer injections, perform venipuncture (blood draws), and prepare patients for diagnostic tests.
- Lab Work: Collect and process lab specimens, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Operations: Schedule patient appointments, manage the front desk flow, and handle incoming calls professionally.
- Education: Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventive care.
- Compliance: Maintain a clean, sterile environment and ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA standards.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification: Current CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification is highly desirable.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Skills: Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience in a medical setting is preferred but not required for high-achievers.
- Reliability: Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends.
