Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Administer medications and vaccines following clinical protocols
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
- Manage electronic health records with precision and HIPAA compliance
- Schedule appointments and handle patient communications
- Maintain clean, organized examination rooms and inventory control
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure seamless patient experiences
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or experience with NextGen preferred)
- Strong phlebotomy and injection administration skills
- Exceptional patient communication and multitasking abilities
- Louisiana MA license or eligibility
- Spanish bilingual skills highly valued
