Responsibilities
- Greet patients and verify demographic information upon check-in to ensure accurate medical records.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during examinations by preparing instruments and rooms.
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests as directed by the provider.
- Prepare patients for procedures and provide pre- and post-procedure education.
- Manage administrative duties including scheduling appointments, handling phone inquiries, and maintaining exam rooms.
- Administer injections and medications under the direct supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.
- Document patient encounters and treatment plans accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Strong proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients of all ages.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- High school diploma or GED required.
