Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures, and minimize anxiety during the collection process.
- Label, process, and log blood specimens according to strict laboratory protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards.
- Verify patient information and resolve any discrepancies prior to specimen collection.
- Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Medical Technology preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
