Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and escort them to examination rooms.
- Clinical Duties: Accurately measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and perform basic point-of-care testing.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage electronic health records (EHR), schedule appointments, and prepare patient charts.
- Specimen Collection: Collect blood and other specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
- Hygiene: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
- Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience preferred, but new graduates with externship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Licensure: Valid Indiana State Medical Assistant license required.
- Skills: Proficiency in Epic or Cerner EHR systems is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, empathy, and the ability to work well under pressure.
